Mark Evans

Mark has been appointed the Chief Strategy and Development Officer for Telefónica SA Executive. He joined the Committee on 1st August 2016, holding the role of Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica UK (O2) through to 1st June 2021. A time at which the business grew to become the UK’s largest mobile provider whilst delivering 5 years of consecutive profit growth and market leading customer satisfaction. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer for Telefónica UK, a position he held since January 2012. Prior to Telefónica Mark has held a number of senior positions within the Vodafone Group including Global Technology CFO, UK CFO and Ireland CFO and prior to Vodafone he held the role of Group Financial Controller for ntl.

Mark was Chairman of Tesco Mobile, the largest Mobile Virtual Network Operator in the UK, a joint venture of Tesco Plc and Telefónica. He gained a Chartered Management Accounting qualification (ACMA) and was educated at Southampton Solent University.
